At Made+Good you can shop a carefully selected range of home, lifestyle and gift products – shipped direct from the studios of the best independent UK Designers and Makers straight to your front door.

Shopping at Made+Good means you are supporting small independent studios run by amazing, hardworking, creative people in the UK. They make varied, exciting, original products designed with an attention to detail and levels of care and quality that would never be achievable in mass production.

Every product on the site is handpicked – chosen for style as well as functionality and is either a one-off handcrafted original or part of a small batch or limited edition.

Did you know it has been scientifically proven that people who donate to charity are happier and healthier? Every time a product is bought through Made+Good a charity benefits and both Makers and Shoppers can give back with no cost to themselves – simply by using the site. Made+Good donates 15% of its commission from every sale and shoppers choose where the donation goes. Read about the Made+Good charities here.

Considering the environment is part of the Made+Good ethos – aiming to source ethically, looking for products that are made form sustainable materials and designed to last and seeking out Makers that are conscious of their impact on the environment. Studios running on green energy, jewellery made from recycled metal, spoons and bowls carved from reclaimed wood, vegetable based inks and recycled packaging are all the norm for many of the Made+Good Makers.

I am Alexandra… a countryside dweller, a wife, a mother of two amazing girls. I love products that show the marks of being handmade and enjoy the idiosyncrasies that give them character and make them unique. I have a thing for hand drawn patterns and objects with faces, I love details and maps and animals (we have two gorgeous rescue dogs and two naughty pygmy goats).

I used to run a design and advertising agency before deciding to work as a freelance designer for charities. And that’s where it all began… the idea to mix a love for design with a desire to do something worthwhile.

I have always enjoyed buying from independent Designers and Makers but it can be hard work tracking down individual shops or trawling through endless listings on huge websites. So I launched Made+Good with the idea of creating an easier way for Makers and lovers of beautifully made things to find each other. A place where we can all indulge our love of beautiful things, support small scale Makers and give a little back at the same time.

I hope you enjoy shopping the range of gifts and products that I have handpicked for the site. If you do, please spread the word, tell all your friends and follow @madeandgood across social media – thank you :)
